Overview

The 360° Evaluator, formerly known as Firmwide, underwent a successful rebrand and redesign to meet the evolving needs of BlackRock’s portfolio managers and stakeholders. The outdated system was transformed into a modern, user-friendly tool, providing a seamless experience across devices.

Challenge

The old system was cluttered with redundant features and lacked usability. The goal was to simplify the interface and enhance functionality, making it intuitive for portfolio managers to communicate investment ideas and data more effectively.

Solution

Through extensive user research, including interviews and shadowing sessions with portfolio managers, we identified key requirements and pain points. This informed the iterative development of wireframes, prototypes, and final designs in Adobe XD. The redesigned tool allows easy export of portfolio summaries, holdings, analytics, and insights, enhancing real-time client conversations and engagement.

The new 360° Evaluator, now supports responsive use on various devices, including iPads—one of the most requested features. It has significantly improved the client experience, enabling more impactful meetings and boosting user satisfaction.

Our team enhanced the Aladdin platform with new features for risk analysis and monitoring, leveraging technologies like Java and Angular to build robust web applications for data visualization and reporting. The improvements streamlined the management of BlackRock’s $6 trillion in assets by providing fast, accurate insights and enhancing user interaction with dynamic, easy-to-navigate tools.
